For the second consecutive year, the Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group (OFET), through its companies UNI-PHARMA & InterMed, chose the sacred island of Delos to carry out a voluntary coastal and underwater cleanup initiative, reinforcing its commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. The initiative took place on Saturday, September 3, 2022, in collaboration with the V GROUP of companies, under the auspices of the Municipality of Mykonos and with the support of the Mykonos Port Authority, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades, and the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities.
Volunteer teams from both Groups, guided by their shared values of social responsibility and environmental stewardship, worked together to remove waste from the island’s beaches, while experienced divers carried out an extensive underwater cleanup, collecting and extracting debris from the seabed. The collected waste was carefully packaged and transported to the V GROUP’s specialized waste management facilities for proper processing, ensuring an environmentally responsible approach to waste disposal.
This initiative is a testament to the broader collaboration between OFET and V GROUP, built upon common corporate values, a shared vision for sustainable development, and a deep commitment to circular economy principles and a zero-waste future. Both organizations recognize that corporate responsibility goes beyond business operations and extends to the preservation of natural resources and the well-being of future generations. By fostering a culture of volunteerism and social engagement, the two Groups aim to set an example, demonstrating that corporate success and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Reflecting on the initiative, Smaragdi Talaki, Head of HR and CSR at OFET, emphasized the power of collaboration in achieving sustainable goals. “Collaboration is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, and it is even more rewarding when we join forces with companies like V GROUP in volunteer-driven efforts. At UNI-PHARMA and InterMed, we are all committed to serving health with passion, creativity, and ethics, always placing human life as our top priority. We continuously seek innovative medical care solutions, contribute to improving quality of life, and work tirelessly toward the prevention and treatment of modern diseases. At the same time, we take great pride in our ongoing efforts to support vulnerable social groups, science, the younger generation, and the environment”.
Natassa Triantafyllidou, Climate Change & Sustainability Manager at V GROUP, highlighted the importance of corporate initiatives that drive positive environmental change. “We are especially pleased with our collaboration with OFET and the success of this volunteer initiative, which marks just the beginning of a series of joint efforts dedicated to benefiting society and the environment. As a leading environmental and energy Group, V GROUP directly links its growth to sustainability. We implement initiatives that promote responsible waste management and circular economy principles, fully aligned with our vision: to create a legacy of values that will inspire and motivate future generations to pursue continuous progress while maintaining an unwavering respect for the environment”.
